We are the all-stars of the USA.
So Europe bow your heads and start to pray!
We're gonna kick your ass out on the green.
It's gonna be a slaughter like you've never seen!
We'll never give you back your colonies!
We're gonna bring your team down to their knees!
We're gonna break and run and
have some fun
and shout WE WON!
We are Team U-S-AaaaaYAAAY!

I want to be the first to publicly say......Congrats on a well played match...

"Wether ya'll know it or not, over the years ya'll have helped me raise my pool game to a level that I could have never achieved w/out your help. Many of you I consider my best of friends, and it is to my good fortune that some of you I consider my best of foes, best of all, I only have to hate all you chaps for 6 hours once a year..." Times almost up, enjoy...

Cheers and good luck to ya'll.... You Bastards

All I can say is that Pete's shot on the 9, leaving a perfect leave on the 8 (it was either game 1 or 2, I can't recall) was one of the best shots I've ever seen. In any case, we're not giving the colonies back.

Indeed he his.

This tournament never fails. Regardless of the result, the organization, everything just keeps getting better. Top times. Top people.

The Mick McEntee Award for Unbridled Beer Consumption (MMUBC) goes again (5th year running) to Mick McEntee. Well done Wink

I was off the board this weekend. My sincerest congrats to Team Europe for another excellent showing. Well played all. Tim's break and run to cinch it was classic. But I have to say Brennan's shot on the 9 in the first match may go down as one of the clutch shots in Mosconi History. See Brennan...people...(me in this case) remember it!

Next year damn you!

Also...bagpiper was awesome. I think next year we'll need to hire the E-Street band or something...

Already back in the UK now after an exhausting but ultimately superb weekend. I take my hat off to Team Europe for yet again playing some absolutely clinical pool and to Team America for showing such grace in defeat. I know how much you guys were up for it this year so I'm sure it won't have been easy.

On the outward flight I remember thinking "am I mad?". A 3,500 mile trip to play one rack of pool!?!? it's one of those things that's impossible to rationalize from the pool perspective and instead highlights the real meaning of the tournament.. ...it's just a great party night out and for me an opportunity to catch up with some very good friends on both teams. Year on year it's just got bigger and bigger with the entrances now as much a part of this event as the pool itself. Next year will be interesting given some of the ideas that are already coming out from both teams! I also have a feeling that a certain Mika Immomen who happens to be one of the best pool players on the planet and who watched with intrigue the entire match unfold on Friday may be back next year with some friends Wink

Finally as Team America continues their search for the right blend some thoughts from the flight home, in no way meant to sound condescending:

- Irrespective of individual ability, is 6 Mosconi debutants too many? 50% of the team having never played in this cauldron before just sounds risky.
- What happened to the 'home advantage' crowd? when Team Europe arrived the noise for the first time from the US players and supporters was intense. I vividly recall thinking "wow, they really mean business this year" and at one point even drowned out the bag piper. At 2-0 ahead you should have been turning the screw in terms of volume but instead the noise stopped and allowed us to get back into the game.
- Interesting choice to arrive after Team Europe and not sure it worked. What started as an accident (we arrived genuinely late the first year due to too much alcohol consumption) has now become team Europe's thing. I think stealing that just got us more up for the match. Some originality next year perhaps? Smile
- Mick, seriously!?!?!?!?

Great to see everyone and never felt like I'd been away.

See you all next year!

You mean we can't just clone Wilson or Kyle 11 times??

Seriously, Team Europe, good match. You guys hit the big shots all night.
